Victoria Fortuna

Victoria has been a Rigpa student since reading the Tibetan Book of Living and Dying and meeting Sogyal Rinpoche at a day-long introduction to Tibetan Buddhism in Washington, DC, in 1993. Over the years, she has participated in numerous Rigpa retreats and workshops both in the U.S. and at Lerab Ling in France.

After retiring from thirty years as an attorney practicing in the areas of employee benefits, employment law, securities law and corporate governance, Victoria has made it a priority to serve the community through volunteer work. Currently, she is the President of the Rappahannock County Public Library Board of Trustees and a certified master naturalist in the Old Rag Chapter of the Virginia Master Naturalists. She has also volunteered with Hospice of the Piedmont and the Rappahannock Food Pantry.

Victoria received her undergraduate degree from Vassar College and her Juris Doctor from Catholic University’s Columbus School of Law.

Victoria lives in Woodville, Virginia, with her husband Charles, their four-legged family members Nico, Pablo, and Simona and countless other beings inhabiting the forest surrounding her home.

Victoria was appointed to the Rigpa Board in 2022.
